The Cardiff Grandma Chapter 46

For earlier Chapters and an explanation of this dreadful story, see blog: The Cardiff Grandma. WARNING: This novel contains fake Welsh. In the previous episode, Samantha Panther deep into the mysterious luxembourgoise palace. Now, Wence Peppet aka Wiggton in pursuit of the oblivious Rhoda Crwys.

The Cardiff Grandma Chapter 46
Rhoda’s true love was that of suburban myths. What had begun as an area of expanded focus for her thesis had in truth become the limelight. Context-free inter-employability in atypical social groups and disadvantaged communities, she felt, was inextirpably rooted in what those social groups and communities believed. This had led to a revised taxonomisation of ‘belief’ itself and its semantic relation to credence, faith, delusion, and superstition. And how did these control the categorisation of such constructs as truth, fact, history, legend, myth, anecdote, rumor, old-wives tales and no comment? Not to mention the recent trailblazing research in the U.S. into the field of ‘bullshit’, or bollocks (see footnote) .

looking for a welder...pay!

I need an artist to create very substantial stands for a dancer to put their full body weight on them. It needs to have hand holds at the top of each stand. It should be almost impossible to tip them over. Ideally, it would be screwed into to stage somehow. Write back and we'll talk more about the specifics.

Go to XYandZ.org to see the work of my aerial dance company for more specifics....

Thank you!

Let's collaborate.

aerial classes in NYC!!!!

Hello All!!!

XYandZ is having an AERIAL dance theater workshop at 241 Bedford Ave Williamsburg, Brooklyn!!!

The focus of the workshop will be improvisation on the floor, taking it in
the air, and developing a set choreographic sequence that results in
characterization and plot development. We will learn basic rock climbing
techniques (simple figure 8 knots, and belaying with a gri gri) which will
enable us to safely spin, climb, bounce, eject, and pierce the air that
surrounds us. Each 3 hour day will result in an aerial vocabulary which
includes harness work, lyra play (hoop), and adagio wall focus. At the end

All right then...ahem...

This, my first Blog entry here at AMP is long overdue.

Waiting until I have time is out of the question, so I'm just going to write as long as I can get away with it.

I have some recent news to report with other Amp members. A couple of weekends ago I attended an opening that my old pal and fellow comics artist (as well as madman dollmaker and filmmaker) Marcel deJure held for an exhibition of his dolls and art. I brought some friends with me that I hadn't seen in a while...Nelson, Lil and Randall. Nelson had a hankering for some of the art but wanted it even for cheaper that it was going for (which was already a steal) and I think Marcel did the right thing to hold his ground.

Chapter 45

Down and down and down they went, further under the ground, below the oddly named abode that was 21.57. The spiral staircase seemed to drill into the ground beneath them as they descended. The only light available came from the glow of her mobile phone, the flickering flame of the disposable lighter held up by the Bangladeshi and the ever present glint in his eye. Occasionally the claustrophobic shaft that contained the stairs would open up to reveal what might have been vast caves of some sort. At first these seemed to be empty spaces full to the brim of empty space. There wasn’t time to really look as he was urging her onwards, downwards. Gradually as they traveled down the steps the spaces they encountered caves that were packed full of large wooden crates. Each crate, she guessed, would be about one metre wide, high and tall. A Cube in fact. Despite the lack of ambient light she was just able to pick out the word ‘CHINA’ stenciled on the side of one of the crates. Was this a reference to the boxes contents or did it refer to a destination or point of origin? There was no time to dwell, the eager old man implored her to go ever further down with increasing excitement.

Those worms, those worms, those squirmy worms...

Well, the research in "alternative" sexual practices is going like gang busters. I've had over twenty hours of interviews with tons of e-mails on the topic. More than one writing project is sprouting from all this, including a screenplay.

I have had several media people get in contact, including a filmmaker, videographer, and TV producer. Not sure if they are on the up-and-up or simply sniffing me out for ulterior motives. I think I've hit a nerve by exploring this taboo topic.

Again, if anyone out there has anything to offer in the way of opinion, referals, or anecdotes, don't hesitate to contact me at torquedtales@aol.com

AMP is Great!

Gotta tell you, because of AMP, I can connect. I just met the splendiferous Maddy Rosenberg, a woman whose words and paintings are an inspiration. Above all, we share the same sort of moxy that defies convention. How cool is that?

I also met some up-and-coming poets (including the son of a former Olympic champion) who will hopefully sign up on AMP soon.

This is truly a meeting place worth being.
