Middle Eastern / N. African Screenwriters and filmmakers invited to participate in competition (deadline July 15)

Screenwriters and documentary filmmakers in the Middle East and North Africa are invited by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission to take part in its international screenwriting and pitch competition designed to identify, develop and launch the careers of outstanding filmmakers. The deadline to submit materials is July 15.

The program exposes emerging filmmakers to high-level industry decision makers and facilitates financing for talented writers and directors from around the world.

Applicants should have completed a short film or documentary that has previously been broadcasted or screened at a film festival, or received a prize.

Good knowledge of English and the ability to present in English are required. Interested applicants should complete the application form (download here), screen play (pdf file), a filmmaker biography, biographies of other key people involved, one page synopsis and a DVD copy of the prior work (only one film, with English subtitles if other language is spoken).
