TESSERAE: THE ART OF MOSIAC
An exhibition highlighting this incredibly rich and diverse medium

JUROR
Sherri Warner Hunter is full time studio artist who creates public, private and community based commissions, as well as fine art. Her art degrees are in sculpture and drawing from the Kansas City Art Institute, MO, and Claremont Graduate Universities, CA, but her training in mosaic and concrete has been through self exploration for more than two decades.

Hunter is known for teaching sculpture, concrete, and mosaic workshops around the country and at her studio in Bell Buckle, TN. She has also authored two books on working with concrete: Making Concrete Garden Ornaments and Creative Concrete Ornaments for the Garden, both published by Lark Books.

Her award winning artwork is included in numerous private collections and can be viewed publicly at the Memphis Selby County Public Library, TN; The TigerTown shopping complex in Opelika, AL, and at the Governor's residence for the State of Tennessee. Hunter's participation with community based projects include the mosaics at Turtle Grove, Albany, GA; "The Gathering" for the Oasis Center, Nashville, TN; and numerous projects with public and private schools. This exhibition is open to all artists. Open subject matter.

ENTRIES

2cc accepts digital files (emailed images) as well as slides, photographs and digital prints. You must label each digital file with the title of your piece only (ex. Long Beach.jpg). Digital submissions must be JPG files saved at 72dpi and 7 inches on the longest side. Use a JPG compression quality of 10 or greater. File size should not exceed 1MB. For 3-D work you may submit two files showing front and back view. Please email your JPG files and form to 2cc at 2ndcitycouncil@earthlink.net

Images, form and payment can also be mailed or dropped off. See below for payment info. Please label slides and prints with the title of your piece only. Photographs or digital prints should be no smaller than 5 x 7" and no larger than 8.5 x 11 (no size restriction on actual work). Slides and prints of accepted pieces will be returned if a SASE is included.

ENTRY FEES

There is a $10 fee per entry for members and $20 entry fee per slide for non-members. No fee for 3D detail slides (2 detail slides per artwork). You can pay via PayPal at www.2ndcitycouncil.org or make checks/money orders payable to 2cc. Entry fees are non-refundable. If mailing entries and/or membership send to: 2nd City Council, P.O. 2cc retains 30% commission on all work sold. If you do not wish to sell your work, please list it NFS on the entry form.
