Please see a new opportunity available for photographers looking to
work as contract faculty at a youth arts non-profit in Venice. Our
workshops run for two hours, once a week. We are looking to hire two
new photography instructors, that can commit to teaching once or twice
a week (with the help of 2 or 3 volunteer artist mentors), for 10
weeks from February 5th to April 23rd, 2011.

Contract Faculty

Photographers

Venice Arts is seeking to develop a pool of qualified professional,
photographers to work on an Independent Contract basis. Selected
faculty will be trained by Venice Arts and given teaching assignments,
on an as–needed basis, in our programs for youth in Venice and at our
Art Partners locations in Los Angeles, as well as in our Social Arts
Initiative documentary projects.

Qualifications:

Must be a photographer with experience teaching youth; a strong
commitment to, and experience in, documentary photography,
photojournalism, or street photography is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with participant photography and visual storytelling is a
plus. Must be expert in digital media, including image management.
Must be available during standard after–school hours and/or on
weekends and interested in a long–term affiliation with Venice Arts.
