Wanted: Ceramics Art Instructor

We are a non-profit Art Program with a job opening in our Culver City,
CA site. We nurture gifted artists with developmental disabilities. Our
success is due to the chemistry between the Artists and Art Instructors
who use their personal artmaking process to guide our artists through
their projects.

We are looking for an individual who:

1. Is technically skilled in ceramics.

2. Has an extensive portfolio

3. Loves contemporary art and has a strong knowledge of
contemporary artists.

4. Has patience

5. Loves working with people and is comfortable with adults with
Developmental Disabilities

6. Can take initiative with projects

The following skills are required:

1. Expertise in ceramic techniques (slab, coil, pinch, raku,
pitfire, glazing, throwing…etc)

2. Can operate electric and gas kilns

3. Familiar with glaze techniques

We offer:

1. A Primary schedule of Monday-Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm

2. Full benefits, including health & dental

3. $11.50/hr

4. Freedom to create your own lesson plans

5. The opportunity to teach extra curricular art classes for the
general public on evenings and weekends

6. The opportunity to assist with curating shows in our Downtown
Gallery

7. Opportunities to network within the local art scene

8. A nurturing and creative environment

We are a non-profit, but the environment is creative and we allow a lot
of freedom with our projects. We are looking for a working artist with
an extensive portfolio. A primary part of our consideration will be
based on your portfolio.
