*EDUCATION & COMMUNITY OUTREACH DIRECTOR*

A Noise Within, Southern California’s Classical Theatre Company, seeks a
motivated team-player in the position of Education and Community Outreach
Director. Reporting to the Artistic Co-Directors, this position is
responsible for all A Noise Within’s training opportunities and programs
that engage our patrons, the community, students, teachers, and artists. The
position encompasses four primary components: 1) School and Teacher
Programs, 2) Conservatory Programs, 3) Audience Enrichment, and 4) Community
Outreach.

We are looking for an individual with a background in arts education and
hands-on experience in education program management, to take a leadership
role in growing A Noise Within’s reach into schools, while expanding and
enhancing audience development activities in the community.

*Specific responsibilities include:*

- Managing, booking and enhancing programs for middle- and high-school
students, including weekday matinees, workshops, and other integrated
opportunities for learning
- Developing and overseeing value-added programming for audience
development, including pre-show lectures, post-show discussions with the
artists, and study guides
- Managing youth programs, including: Summer With Shakespeare and Young
Actors Workshop
- Facilitating and developing A Noise Within’s professional conservatory
courses for artists
- Administering and supervising Professional Internship Program in
acting, design and directing and additional education program interns and
volunteers
- Researching, writing and editing study guides and contributing to
education and outreach marketing materials
- Developing, marketing and coordinating outreach activities to potential
theatre-goers
- Facilitating Education Advisory Committee activities and
recommendations
- Networking in the educational community to enhance A Noise Within’s
relationship with school boards, school administrators, and teachers

*EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:* Bachelor's degree required, Master's
degree a plus. Ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience in arts
education, be familiar with the education system, be a highly organized team
player with the ability to multi-task, have exemplary verbal and written
communication skills, have marketing experience, and be able to manage a
changing and varied workload.

*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:* Manage teaching artists, supervise
professional interns and direct education program volunteers and interns.

*WORKING REQUIREMENTS:* The ability and willingness to work flexible hours
as needed is also a requirement of the job. Employee is required to maintain
a high level of professionalism at all times.
