Citizens from Southeast Europe younger than 30 can submit short films - 30 minutes max - to a festival.

Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival is seeking submissions on this year's theme "Talk to Me," a call for young people to get engaged in their culture.

The main objective of the project is to invite and motivate young people to create short films through which they reflect on their region's past, current and future situation. Film categories can be fiction, documentary, animation or experimental.

The production of the film has to be from a Southeast European country. Films from other nationalities are accepted as long as the film is a co-production with someone from the Balkans or the film deals or takes place in the Balkans.

There will be a monetary prize but the amount is yet to be announced.

The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2012.
