JOB OPENING: Printmaker/Painting Instructor for non-profit arts program

Wanted: Printmaker/Painter Art Instructor – Downtown LA Art Studio

We nurture gifted artists with developmental disabilities. Our success
is due to the chemistry between the Artists and Art Instructors who use
their personal art making process to guide our artists through their
projects to create saleable artwork with our students. This position
offers an artist the ability to work in a stable, creative environment
for a great cause.

We are looking for individuals who:

1. Are technically skilled in printmaking and painting

2. Creative and enthusiastic in creating art projects

3. Has an extensive portfolio that can illustrate your abilities

4. Has a strong knowledge of contemporary art

5. Has patience

6. Enjoys people and is comfortable with adults with Developmental
Disabilities

7. Can take initiative with projects

The following skills are required:

1. Good representational and abstract painting technique
2. Understands general Printmaking techniques
3. Can operate and maintain a professional etching press
4. Is familiar with a wide range of materials
5. Knowledge of multiple printmaking techniques
6. Can organize and maintain the workspace
7. Ability to adapt projects to student's abilities to
create saleable art

We offer:

1. Primary schedule of Monday-Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
2. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including Medical,
Dental and Vision coverage, life insurance, 401K, vacation, and
sick time
3. Rate $9.50 - $12.83/hr DOE

We are a non-profit that fosters a creative environment and we allow a
lot of freedom with our projects. We are looking for working artists
with an extensive portfolio, and as such, a primary part of our
consideration will be based on your portfolio.
