Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts
16 July - 25 August 2012
Two courses in curatorial practice

The curatorial collective What, How & for Whom / WHW, among others, was responsible for the 2009 Biennial in Istanbul. Their course Art always has its consequences reflects on contemporary artistic practice as well as on the notion of curating, from the perspective of various ideas for intervention in existing social, institutional and ideological landscapes. They will explore, for example, what an exhibition can offer to activist artistic practice, and how an exhibition might be rethought as an open and collective resource.
Time: 16 – 28 July 2012
Costs: € 610.- (red. € 450.-)

Juan A. Gaitan and Maria Lind work from the assumption that curating today extends beyond the production of exhibitions. In their course titled You and me and the others notions such as 'mediation' and 'the public', as well as other concepts relevant to contemporary curatorial practice, will play an important role. This workshop will ask each of its participants to bring her or his own project ideas, as source material for discussion and debate.
Time: 4 – 11 August 2012,
Costs: € 450.- (red. € 350.-)
