Los Angeles -- LACE Social Media Internship

LACE seeks a social media intern to promote, develop, and maintain all of LACE's social media platforms. This work includes archiving social media posts, as well as researching best practices and developing online modes of communication. Intern will create posts about LACE programs and other partners that are in our greater community. Using platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Vimeo, and Instagram, the Social Media Intern will work directly with the LACE staff to communicate with our audience about exhibitions and events under supervision of LACE staff. The Social Media Intern is also responsible for streamlining our social media forms. Working hand in hand with the Executive Director and the Program Coordinator, the intern will research and develop online engagements that allow for an open discussion to take place between artists and curators. The intern will also participate in two special events. Knowledge and interest in the growing field of contemporary art and technology is required.

Responsibilities include:

. Update and maintain all of LACE's social media platforms and their accompanying instructional manuals
. Produce weekly social media reports
. Check LACE's email and respond accordingly
. Ensure quality of visitors experience through facility maintenance
. Perform clerical duties, including answering phones calls and sorting mail
. Greet visitors and track attendance during gallery hours
. Assist during special events

Requirements include:

. Strong writing and communication skills
. Fluency with web and social media platforms
. Experience with the Adobe Design Suite and other new media
. Ability to work with others in a close mentorship setting
. Must be interested in contemporary art and desiring to learn about LACE programs
. Photo/video and technical experience (a/v operations) is a plus
. Proficiency and demonstrated interest in Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, and Vimeo is required
. Video documentation and video editing skills a plus

TIME COMMITMENT
Minimum 3-month commitment of 16 hours per week. Weekday schedule is flexible.
