About Kunststiftung Baden-Wuerttemberg:
The mission of the Kunststiftung is to support young artists in taking the first steps in their professional careers by providing financial support in the form of fellowships and publicizing their work. Since our foundation in 1977 we have assisted over 900 artists from fine art, music, literature and the performing arts. In addition to offering fellowships, the Kunststiftung focuses on organizing exhibitions, concerts and readings to provide a platform for its fellows.
As of 2012 the Kunststiftung began awarding fellowships for art criticism, the first foundation in Germany to do so. Since 2009 the institution maintains the Kunstbuero. This is a 'contact office' in Stuttgart conceived to further individual professionalization in the fine arts (holding workshops on copyright law, fundraising, public commissions etc.), which provides advice and support for artists writing funding proposals. The Kunststiftung also maintains two studios in Berlin.
