in Residence program. This program is one-of-a-kind in the country and gives
artists of any discipline the rare chance to explore making art in the
context of city-making, working alongside other city professionals. Please

Public Art Saint Paul (PASP) is expanding its City Artist in Residence
(CAIR) program and is seeking to fill two individual artist positions for
highly unique, purposeful, and challenging work. We seek dynamic candidates
of any artistic discipline related to the public realm to join an innovative
program that pursues the vision of "City Art." City Art is made within the
life-sustaining systems of the city, by artists working far upstream in the
city-making process. Of the two open positions, one artist-Streets & Open
Spaces-will come from the tradition of the well-made object (2D or 3D) and
work largely in streetscapes, infrastructure, and open spaces. The other
artist-Temporal & Engagement-will have experience in performance, events, or
social practice and work largely in programming and engagement within the
public sphere. Both will work collaboratively with the CAIR team and across
departments of the City, and explore art-making that breaks ground in public
art practice. Candidates may apply to one position or the other. Interviews
will take place the week of October 29.

Part-time: 24 hours per week, beginning as soon as November 5, 2012.
Term: One year, renewable upon review.
Compensation: $25-30 per hour, based on experience.
