Let's Talk About Mobility- a call for art (August 19 deadline, no fee)

If you could have a walker, a wheelchair, crutches, prosthetic arm/leg/etc. or a home/workplace with unlimited accessibility of any style and any kind…
What would that look like? What secret powers would they have? How do you re*imagine mobility and disability?

Opulent Mobility is a juried gallery show about re-imagining mobility and disability. The show will run September 6-8 at the Bell Arts Factory in Ventura, CA,opening on their popular First Friday. The gallery is beautifully designed for wheeled accessibility.

We're looking for 2D art that helps start a conversation about what works and what doesn't in mobility and disability devices, designs and everyday living. Submissions can be designs for new devices, fantastical ideas, home/office/playtime layouts and art dealing with the emotions and issues associated with mobility/disability. Accepted formats include drawings, paintings, digital works, photography, multi-media- anything that can be hung on a wall.

SUBMISSION DETAILS:
Deadline for submission is August 19, 2013.

No submission fee. The gallery takes a 30% commission of sales.

All art must be hanging-ready.

Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of art OR for the cost of shipping the art to and from the Bell Arts Factory. We cannot store your art!
