Senior marketing and patron services associate

*position purpose*
The marketing team is responsible for positioning the Orchestra
strategically to enhance its dynamic image and encourage organizational
pride, good publicity, effective fundraising and robust ticket income. The
primary goal is to strengthen relationships with existing patrons and
develop relationships with newcomers.

In support of the director of marketing and marketing department, the
senior marketing and patron services associate is responsible for managing
LACO’s website and online presence, as well as advertising, promotions,
relationship marketing and social media, and assisting with LACO’s box
office functions. The senior marketing and patron services associate
embraces LACO’s tagline of “making great music personal” in all
interactions with the Orchestra’s patrons and the community at large.

As part of LACO’s marketing team, the senior marketing and patron services
associate reports to the director of marketing, supervises all staff
activities related to LACO’s website and electronic media, collaborates
with the box office and marketing associate on sales and patron services
and with the development and marketing associate on electronic
communications; supervises the summer marketing intern; and coordinates as
necessary with design, media and telemarketing consultants. Cross-training,
support and cooperation are expected in all areas.

*scope & responsibilities*
Website and Electronic Media

- Coordinate the completion and launch of the new website and expanded
interactivity;
- Coordinate organization of ongoing weekly website updates;
- Collect and coordinate the overhaul of website information for all
departments each season;
- In consultation with the director of marketing, initiate the
development of new electronic communication concepts and emerging
e-communication opportunities and supervise implementation;
- Develop, coordinate and strategically expand electronic and social
media opportunities to increase LACO’s reach and visibility online and
community interaction; and
- Trouble-shoot website platform issues for the organization.

Advertising and Promotion

- Coordinate print, online, broadcast and website budget;
- In consultation with the director of marketing, maintain and
strategically expand media partnerships and advertising plans to increase
LACO’s visibility, brand recognition and sales; and
- Prepare advertising copy and oversee promotions and ad placement, and
the analysis of results through a variety of reports and statistical
processes.

Relationship and Direct Response Marketing

- Write copy and collaborate with LACO’s in-house designer to create
electronic communications;
- Develop and manage strategy, timeline and analysis of results and
maintenance of an up-to-date email list;
- Assist in developing copy for marketing materials and program book,
and collect and edit biographies, photographs and images; and
- Coordinate marketing-related receptions.

Box Office and Ticketing

- Assist director of marketing in managing box office functions,
including patron interaction, for all subscription, single ticket and
online sales;
- Assist the box office and marketing associate in processing orders,
generating daily sales reports and maintaining database; and
- Staff box office on concert weekends and evenings as assigned.

*experience/characteristics required*
The ideal candidate has proven and relevant marketing experience and is an
organized, creative, enthusiastic self-starter with great time-management
skills, a passion for classical music and a commitment to a career in arts
administration. Excellent written and verbal skills are required. Website
management and social media experience is a decided plus; knowledge and
understanding of email distribution software (such as PatronMail) and
CRM system
(such as PatronManager) is preferred. Three to five years relevant
experience in arts administration, a related industry or not-for-profit
organization and an undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree in
arts administration or business is highly desired. EOE
