The video contest wants youth to explain to their peers and adults the
facts of the Affordable Care Act. The focus is on the need for youth (18-35
yrs) to have health insurance.

What are some of those critical facts? For example:
The law gives states the option of expanding Medicaid, a very low-cost
government insurance program, to cover individuals making under about
$15,300 a year. Almost 8 million uninsured young adults age 18 to 34 could
benefit from this affordable insurance option.

Check out the website for details on how to submit, learn when the voting
occurs, and take this opportunity to win prizes and $.

There are gifts for the first one hundred entrants. Open submission time

Young Invincibles (The YI Network) is a national organization committed to
mobilizing and expanding opportunities for young Americans between 18 and
34 years of age on issues including higher education, health care, and jobs.

Background:
This Fall, many young Americans will have more health insurance options
than ever before as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) begins allowing
individuals to enroll in new subsidized health insurance plans. The full
name of the health act is the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of
2010. There's been so much buzz about it. Young Invincibles and the U.S.
Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) have created a video
competition that will look at the creativity and energy of American talent
while raising awareness about the new health law.

We want you and your friends to
create your own video. (click for youtube video)

The contest assignment encourages young, tech-savvy people to take
advantage of the benefits of health insurance and spread the word to their
peers and adults.
