OPEN CALL: Encaustic and Wax Artists
This call for entries is open until October 12, 2013 for a show focusing on
Encaustic and Wax art, called WAX ART LA to be held at Catalyst Gallery in
Westminster, CA open from November 9, 2013- December 14, 2013. Any artist
located within Southern California that is working with encaustic and wax
mediums is welcome to enter (both two dimensional and three dimensional
art). Submission is free.

TO ENTER:
Email submission to submissions(at)artsupplywarehouse.com with the subject
line SUBMISSION: Encaustic and Wax art to be considered. Attach up to five
high quality jpg images of work you are submitting. Include a list of
images submitted with the following information, Title, Dimensions, Medium,
Price. Please also include an Artist Bio or short Artist Statement about
the work and a link to your website.

Other Important Information:
This is a juried show not all entries will be included in the show.
Artists will be notified by October 19th, 2013. Artists must be able to
drop work off at Catalyst in person. Catalyst gallery charges a 35%
commission on work sold. Encaustic paint company Enkaustikos will create a
virtual online gallery of the work as well as prizes for two artists, Grand
Prize and Jurors Choice, of Enkaustikos encaustic art materials.

This show will be juried by Pamela Smith-Hudson, a Los Angeles area artist
and UCLA graduate who is passionate about art and teaching. She is a mixed
media artist experienced in printmaking, collage, assemblage, encaustics as
well as various water media painting techniques focusing on organic
abstractions reflecting rhythm and movement. Pam recently joined the Los
Angeles County Museum of Art faculty and is an artist consultant for many
art material manufacturers.

Catalyst is a gallery and studio owned by Art Supply Warehouse in
Westminster, CA. Catalyst has featured southern California artists Stuart
Hamilton, Katherine Sikorski, Taylor Montague and more as well as teamed up
with non-profit organizations such as CoachArt and HopeU to encourage
creativity and involvement within the local art community.
