JOB: Development Director - Zimmer Children’s Museum

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

The Zimmer Children's Museum is dedicated to inspiring young
people of all ages to cultivate a social conscience and embrace
their responsibility to help make the world a better place. It is
our mission to help young people develop their capacity for
creating

positive change through interactive learning, creative
self-expression and leadership development.

Position Responsibilities: The Development Director, who reports
to the CEO, is responsible for creating, coordinating and
implementing fundraising and fundraising support programs,
including corporate giving, individual donations/ major gifts,
and events (including our annual Gala fundraising dinner).

Specific responsibilities include:

* Prospect cultivation
* Donor stewardship
* Corporate solicitation
* Working with Board members and other stakeholders to reach
out to new potential funders
* Event management
* Creating and managing development and communications
calendar (including grants)

The ideal candidate is excited about the mission of the Zimmer
and passionate about helping share this mission with a wide range
of possible supporters. This candidate is motivated to build on
the successes of a small, thriving museum, to resourcefully
expand its reach and capacity.

Requirements:

* A minimum of 8 years demonstrated successful fundraising
experience or its equivalent, preferably in an organization
serving children, youth and/or families.
* Proven track record of personally identifying, cultivating
and soliciting individual donors, corporations for support.
* Demonstrated success securing corporate relationships.
* Prior experience with major donor solicitation and the
ability and confidence to make the ask when appropriate.
* Demonstrated experience in setting and reaching fundraising
goals and benchmarks.
* Prior experience with managing fundraising events.
* Strong organizational skills, with a proven record of
managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
* Proven concern for detail, organization, and timely
follow-through.
* Excellent presentation skills.
* Experience with Raisers Edge or equivalent donor software a
plus.
* Membership/ involvement in AFP preferred.
* Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in related field
a plus.
* Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.

SALARY: Competitive, depending on experience (with full benefits)
