Call for Teachers:

Oakwood's* Academy of Creative Education* is a school like no other. This
is a place where students are given both the freedom and tools to make
their artistic visions come true—where students and faculty create and
perform side by side teaching and learning from each other.

Oakwood's summer program, The Academy of Creative Education, is looking
for several visual arts teachers (see specifics below). Class size is
typically 10 students per class ranging from 11 to 15 years in age. Classes
are 2 hours long and meet twice a day Monday through Thursday from July 6
through July 30. When the program concludes there is a final
exhibition/performance where student work and collaborative projects are
displayed.

If you have experience in and are interested in teaching any of the
following topics/media, please indicate your area(s) of interest and submit
a cover letter and a resume (or CV). PLEASE list any relevant teaching
experience (middle-school preferred) on your resume and submit samples of
student work as well as a link to an online portfolio. Ideal candidates
will be able to teach both middle and high-school aged students (alongside
one another) and be willing to collaborate with other teachers on themed
projects. A team player attitude is a must.

*Animation Teacher:* ACE is looking for a teacher who can teach stop motion
animation and other simple animation methods and programs to beginners. My
be familiar with using a green screen and digital photo equipment.

*Film/Video: *ACE is looking for a film video teacher familiar with iMovie
and FCP as well as super 8. Specifically looking for someone who can teach
middle and high-school students lighting, shooting, editing and other basic
film/video skills.

*Drawing/Painting Teacher:* ACE is looking for a 2-d instructor that can
teach in a variety of wet and dry media (from watercolors to latex house
paint to charcoal) that can bring a number of unconventional painting
projects to the table (to differentiate from the school-year curriculum).

*Sculpture Teacher:* ACE is looking for a Sculpture teacher that is
familiar working in time-based medium (i.e. kinetic sculptures that employ
engineering, design, technology, robotics and coding someone who is
interested in the Maker community) as well as traditional 3-d sculpting
techniques.
