Nominations are now open for the
Silverlake Independent Jewish Community Center's
Culture Lab!

?Drawing from Los Angeles' rich and diverse artist population, Culture Lab unites five artists (nominated by their peers) from different disciplines to collaborate on the creation of new work inspired by a Jewish theme.

Selected artists are provided a $1000 stipend and a diverse array of resources, including Jewish scholars and experts who serve as guides throughout the collaborative process. Each four-month long Lab culminates in a high-profile public exhibition of the work, presented by the SIJCC, engaging the Los Angeles Jewish and arts communities.?

Culture Lab is open to artists from all backgrounds, not just Jewish artists! Nominees do need to be open to exploring the Jewish theme that will be chosen to fit the group. Past themes have included OIL?, DISGUISE, MARGIN?, and SACRIFICE.

The next round of Culture Lab will start in mid-summer, 2015, with a culminating exhibition in November. Artist nominations are accepted on a rolling basis, however to be considered for this round, nominations should be received by the end of April.
