ArtsCouncil for Long Beach 2015-2016 Annual Grant Cycle The ArtsCouncil for Long Beach provides three types of annual grants to fund Long Beachartists, organizations and initiatives: the Community Project Grant; OperatingGrants I & II; and Professional Artist Fellowship Grants. These grantsare generously supported through the City of Long Beach’s allocation forthe arts. The CommunityProject Grant program supports the exemplary artistic, cultural and artseducational projects of arts and cultural organizations in Long Beach. ThroughCommunity Project Grant programs, the Arts Council encourages innovative,creative and unique programming and supports cultural projects that meetdiverse community needs. OperatingGrants provide unrestricted operating support to Long Beach-based arts andcultural organizations that collect, preserve, present and/or commissionexemplary works of art (e.g. visual art exhibitions, theatre, dance and/ormusical performances). Works of art must be of regional significance, for thebenefit of the general public and provide educational opportunities that enableaudiences to better understand and appreciate the arts. TheProfessional Artist Fellowship honors a selection of Long Beach’s livingartists. These awards recognize Long Beach artists who live, work or activelycreate in Long Beach and demonstrate an active exhibition and/or productionrecord of at least three years. Awards are granted based on artistic merit andprofessional achievement.
