Application Deadline: Friday, May 28, 2016

Job Description: Opening Act seeks Assistant Teaching Artists for its after-school theater programs in New York City’s public high schools. All Teaching Artists will be trained throughout the year and Assistant Teaching Artists have the potential to become Lead Teaching Artists after a year of working with Opening Act.

Assistant teaching artists will be hired for the length of the school year (September-June) to work at 1 of our partnering campuses. Programs meet weekly for two hours each. In addition to the weekly workshops with students, teaching artists will have monthly 1 1/2-hour team meetings, two weekend training sessions and two 3-hour meetings with all Opening Act teaching artists, as well as extra rehearsals with the students as they near their performances.

This is a part-time position.
