Call for Submissions: Silverdocs Documentary Film Festival

SILVERDOCS seeks film that exhibit a personal cinematic vision and meet the highest standards of creative excellence and technical achievement. Now entering its sixth year, SILVERDOCS has been hailed as the ’pre-eminent US documentary festival” (Screen International) and as “non-fiction nirvana” (Variety). The Festival features 100 films, representing over 45 countries, and awards over $50,000 in cash and prizes. Documentaries should have been completed on or after March 2007, and not screened on television or theatrically in the US prior to the Festival. SILVERDOCS is also accepting documentary grant proposals for the $10,000 ACE (Animal Content in Entertainment) Grant for theatrical, television, or new media projects featuring animal-related content.

Past SILVERDOCS award winners include JESUS CAMP, BORN INTO BROTHELS, DARWIN’S NIGHTMARE, MY ARCHITECT and STREET FIGHT, all of which were nominated for Academy Awards. SILVERDOCS presented the world premiere of THE BLOOD OF YINGZHOU DISTRICT, which won the 2007 Academy Award for best documentary short.
