The 2008 International Community Film Festival
11th September – 12th October 2008

Patron: Baroness Falkner of Margravine
What's happening in your part of the world?
How are you creating a better world?
What challenges do you face?
What successes have you had?
Have you used film to document your experiences?

The themes for this year's festival include:

•global citizenship – how your actions contribute to global issues
and how global issues are affecting you
•conflict resolution – moving beyond conflict and promoting harmony
•diversity – understanding and respecting differences
•human rights – knowing about and promoting human rights
•interdependence – your community in a global context
•social justice – valuing equality and fairness; challenging injustice
•sustainable development – valuing our natural resources and the
environment
•values and perceptions – awareness that people have different
values, attitudes and perceptions

"We are delighted to be able to offer a prize fund of £2000/ $4000
for the best films submitted."

"The emphasis from the start has been on films made by local people
that record life in their community. The selection committee are
looking for a strong message rather than big budget films."
Prof Ian McCormick
