East West Players hosts

PACIFIC CENTURY:
A National Playwriting Competition!

East West Players is now accepting submissions for its national playwriting
competition, PACIFIC CENTURY.
We are looking for unproduced full-length plays and musicals that have Asian
Pacific American themes and/or characters as the primary focus.

First Prize $5000
Second Prize $2500
Third Prize $1000

POSTMARK DEADLINE FOR MATERIALS IS JUNE 30, 2008!

The works will be judged by a panel of distinguished artists.
Past judges have included David Henry Hwang, Philip Kan Gotanda, Henry Chan,
Gary Shimokawa, and Wakako Yamauchi.

While all genres are welcome, comedies are encouraged.
Each play should require no more than 6-8 actors (for musicals, no more than
10-12)
and tell its story in 2.5 hours or less including a 15 minute intermission.

All winners will be considered for workshop and/or production.
EWP must have first option to produce. Winners will be announced January
2009.
