WORD Grant 2016: The Bruce Geller Memorial Prize

The WORD Grant, a project of American Jewish University’s Institute for
Jewish Creativity, supports artists creating projects that explore Jewish
ideas, themes, tradition, history, and identity. We believe in supporting a
contemporary, vibrant, Jewish cultural landscape in Los Angeles.

Applications are now open for our first round of funding and are due March
30th. We are pleased to support projects that approach Jewish culture from
a variety of perspectives, in terms of discipline, context and thematic
elements. Grants of $500-$2,000 will be given for the creation and/or
presentation of new work.

Sophie Olson Dance Explosion is holding auditions on March 19th from 10:00am-11:00am @Burbank First Academy, 700 N Glenoaks Blvd, Burbank, CA 91502 We are casting We.Are.Humans, a 25 minute dance show based on social structure, human interaction, relationship and how if we allow always prevails.
We.Are.Humans performs on June 4th in east Los Angeles at an outdoor art festival. Dancers will receive a stipend and a dvd copy of the show. Rehearsals beings in April. Rehearsals are on Sundays and on some Thursday evenings. Dancers must be over 21. Must have a strong technical background, contemporary training and able to incorporate hip hop and jazz in their contemporary movement.

SODE is a project based contemporary hip-jazz fusion dance company.
