The Brea Art Gallery is now calling for entries through January 25, 2010 to present next year's Made In California exhibit. This very popular show will be the 25th annual juried exhibition and will run from March 27 – May 7, 2010. The prospectus is available online or at the Brea Art Gallery.

Hey, I'm looking to do a fundraiser at the end of January or early February for the play i'm producing. Does anybody know of any spaces that would be free or cheap?

The City of Santa Monica, Cultural Affairs Division, seeks applications for the second 10-week Artist Residency to take place at the Annenberg Community Beach House. For this Residency, interested choreographers are asked to propose site-specific works for the Beach House. Applications are due January 25th. The Resident will have use of a large private office in the historic Marion Davies Guest House from February 22 through May 3. Painting is my passion. I have always loved painting since I was very young. I think the process of art creation helps my inner perception grows. When I paint, I use colors freely, both in a traditional and innovative ways. Usually when I paint, I get a feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction during the process and at the end I want to transmit that same feeling to whoever is looking at my painting.

Documentary producers and filmmakers are invited to submit works to the BAFICI independent film festival, scheduled for April 7 to 18, 2010 in Argentina. Deadline: January 29.

The festival is accepting fiction, documentary and experimental films that concluded production after March 1, 2009. Films to be exhibited during the event must be in 35mm, 16mm, Betacam SP (PAL), Digital Betacam (PAL), or HD format.

Filmmakers from across the world are invited to submit entries for the Hamburg International Short Film Festival which will take place June 1 to 7, 2010. Deadline to apply: February 15, 2010.

Alongside the festival program, a wide range of extra activities such as seminars, workshops, and panels on special topics will be available.

Winners will be notified by mid-May. If the original version of the film or video is in a language other than English or German, the film should be subtitled in English.
