We’re reaching out from Art at a Time Like This as we prepare for our upcoming exhibition,

DON’T LOOK NOW, opening in a gallery in Lower Manhattan in October 2025. Art at a Time

Like This is a nonprofit arts organization with the mission of providing platforms and

opportunities for artists and curators responding to today’s most pressing issues.

In keeping with that mission, DON’T LOOK NOW will spotlight powerful artworks that have

been recently censored, withdrawn, or defunded, particularly in light of the recent wave of NEA

grant rescindments and other politically motivated restrictions.

We would love to hear from you. Our goal is to give important works the platform they deserve,

and to stand with artists navigating this challenging moment.

DON’T LOOK NOW will include works across all mediums, painting, photography, performance, video, digital art, sculpture, fiber art, and more, addressing the full range of issues that are currently being targeted: from LGBTQ+ identity and reproductive rights to Palestinian visibility, racial justice, Indigenous rights, antisemitism, and more.

We’re eager to connect with curators, institutions, and individuals who are aware of artists

impacted by censorship or funding loss. If this applies to you or someone in your network, we

encourage you to reach out or forward this call. Feel free to circulate this call for art.

Submission deadline: June 20, 2025
