We’re writing from Foundation for Contemporary Arts to ask for your help in spreading the word about our Emergency Grants program. Our office is in New York, but we make grants to artists living anywhere in the U.S., to support projects happening anywhere in the world. We’re excited by the work you are doing which is aligned with FCA’s mission to support experimental artists.

In an effort to reach experimental artists coast to coast, we need your community to know we are here for them. Even in good times, it is always harder for experimental artists to find financial support for their work.

Unlike many other emergency programs, we offer small grants ($500-$3000) to artists in dance, performance art/theater, music/sound, poetry, and visual arts who are experiencing professional emergencies. These are artists who have sudden, unanticipated opportunities to present their work to the public and there is insufficient time to seek other sources of funding and/or they incur unexpected or unbudgeted expenses for projects close to completion with committed exhibition or performance dates. Grants are given year-round, with panel meetings every month.

On Tuesday, February 24, from 5:00-6:00pm ET, we are doing a virtual information session for Emergency Grants. Anyone can RSVP here.

We would love for you to spread the word! We’ve even attached a reel for your social media. You can also find information here on our site.

We hope you will share news of this resource with experimental artists in your community.

All best wishes,

FCA Programs Team
