I'm a volunteer with WriteGirl, a creative writing mentoring organization based in LA, and it is absolutely wonderful. They're going to be training new volunteers and mentors in September, so if anyone is interested, it's a great time to get involved. Feel free to email me directly if you have any questions.

Volunteer with WriteGirl and give back to the creative community. Your creative spirits and insights are needed by teen girls in Los Angeles!
WriteGirl is a non-profit organization that empowers teen girls through creative writing and self-expression. Young writers receive creative techniques and insights through one-on-one mentoring, school programs and monthly workshops.

YOUR SKILLS ARE NEEDED!

There are many ways to volunteer with WriteGirl:

SODE School of Performing Arts est à la recherche de prof de danse de hip hop, ballet, jazz et modern pour les enfants de 2 ans à 17ans. Aussi, nous somme à la recherche de prof de Musical Theater pour enfants de 10 ans à 17ans. Les profs doivent être complétement bilingue en français et en anglais. Doit être disponible pour enseigner à Pasadena, Burbank, Glendale et West Side. En se moment,les classes sont le mercredi et mardi après-midi à partir du 9 septembre. Certificat de « early childhood eductaion » ,fitness / danse assurance personnelle et certificat de RED CROSS un PLUS! Un bon salaire. (Doit participer a certains petite formation.) The Performing Arts Education Centers located in Agoura Hills and Calabasas are actively looking for Sound Engineers to add to their Over-Hire list. While a small portion of the work may involve high school concerts and productions, our over-hires work primarily on all-pro crews with outside clients during rentals.

The Centers' four theaters boast full digital sound packages designed and installed by AMT. We run a Yamaha M7 and a Yamaha LS9, a MOTU 896, Qlab for playback, and a complete package of mics from SM58 to 414 to 4066.
