*Description*: The Art Exhibition is a special opportunity for visual
artists from the local community to exhibit and sell their work in themed
and curated gallery spaces. Visual artists working in all mediums are
encouraged to enter the event, though we will favor two dimensional works
such as paintings, photographs and fiber art.
*The theme:* Food. What does food mean to you? Such a simple word, food,
something we all need. At the same time it is a complex topic sparking
social, political, economic, and cultural debate. Is it nutrition or is it

The Academy of the Arts of the World is a unique, Cologne-based institution founded in 2012 with the aim of fostering inter- and transcultural dialogue between the arts.
The Byrdcliffe AiR program provides visual artists, writers and composers of exceptional talent with uninterrupted time and creative space within the serene natural setting of the historic Byrdcliffe Art Colony. Lasting between three and six weeks, Byrdcliffe’s residencies provide artists with uninterrupted private studio time within a community of peers. Artists are invited to participate in open studios, work-shares, communal dinners and field trips, or may spend their residency working in the creative solitude of their studio. Byrdcliffe’s residencies are particularly beneficial to those who find it restorative to live in a simple, communal environment in close proximity to natural beauty.
Cost: $450/3-weeks, $600/4-weeks, $900/6-weeks
KEYHOLDER RESIDENCY PROGRAM
The Lower East Side Printshop, NY offers emerging artists with FREE year-long studio residencies to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. The application deadline is Friday, March 1, 2013 for residencies that begin on April 1, 2013. Printmaking facilities are available for intaglio, relief, monoprint, waterbased silkscreen, digital processes, and other techniques that employ the tools at hand.
Applications for 2013 Getty Multicultural Undergraduate Internship grants to museums and visual arts organizations are due February 1, 2013!
Since its inception in 1993, the internship program has supported more than 2,700 internships in Los Angeles-area museums and visual arts organizations. The program aims to increase diversity in the professions related to the visual arts and to provide programmatic support for local organizations.
The internships are intended specifically for outstanding students who are members of groups currently underrepresented in the museum and visual arts professions: individuals of African American, Asian, Latino/Hispanic, Native American and Pacific Islander descent.
Community Arts Resources (CARS) seeks a highly qualified and energetic Manager of Marketing and Communications to oversee the coordination and implementation of all communications for our client CicLAvia, a Los Angeles based nonprofit.
The Manager of Marketing and Communications, which is a new position, will assist in the development of CicLAvia's overall strategy and implementation plan, in addition to the coordination of CicLAvia's web management, online communications, and social media. This position manages its brand image, helping to streamline and properly communicate key messages that correspond with the organization's mission.
