SculptureCenter seeks a Curator to contribute to the organization’s artistic program, expanding and enlivening SculptureCenter’s mission to support artistic innovation and independent thought.

The Curator will conceive, develop, and implement an original program of exhibitions, commissions, educational and public programs, publishing initiatives, and other activities aligned with an expansive and principled vision for SculptureCenter’s engagement with timely issues in our field. Among other qualifications, candidates should have 5-7 years of curatorial experience; a thorough working knowledge of international contemporary art history; and experience working directly with living artists in the service of commissioning new works, developing exhibitions, and navigating institutional needs. We are a small, hands-on team of colleagues. We seek candidates with excellent planning and implementation skills and proven abilities to handle a variety of artistic and administrative responsibilities while maintaining best practices for exhibition making.

The Curator reports to the Director and works collaboratively with the Director and the Deputy Director to devise a robust, long-term programmatic calendar that situates and contextualizes their own curatorial priorities and perspectives within an array of institutional undertakings. This role is supported by the Exhibition and Program Manager.
