Theatre Without Borders, presented by La MaMa ETC and in affiliation with Brandeis University, announces ACTING TOGETHER ON THE WORLD STAGE: A CONFERENCE ON THEATRE AND PEACE BUILDING IN CONFLICT ZONES, September 23-26, 2010 in New York City. This conference brings together theatre and performance practitioners from around the world to share their experiences with artists, activists, educators, policy makers, and the general public.

The SZPILMAN AWARD is awarded to works that exist only for a moment or a short period of time. The purpose of the award is to promote such works whose forms consist of ephemeral situations.
The SZPILMAN AWARD is awarded annually.
The prize winner receives the Jackpot Stipendium.
This scholarship consists of three parts:
A challenge cup, 10 days of accommodation in Cimochowizna (Poland), and a sum of money in cash.
The amount of money is dynamic. SZPILMAN is raising money parallel to the competition. The prize winner receives the money that is raised until September 30, 2010. The current score may be checked here.

Puppeteer Job Opportunity
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County seeks Puppeteer to work with our Education and Exhibits department as a full-suit puppeteer for a SABER-TOOTHED CAT as part of the Museum's educational performing arts programming.
This position has the following requirements:
*3-5 years as a dancer, gymnast, actor or performance artist.
*3-5 years of physical and movement based training.
*Experience as a full-suit puppeteer desired.
*Extensive theater training and experience as an educator preferred.
*Audition required.
*Height and lifting requirements based on puppet
OVERVIEW:
The Collection Inventory Assistant Registrar will assist the museum's Assistant Registrar in the successful implementation of the Collection Inventory Project. This position will be responsible for the cataloguing of MOCA's permanent collection.
This position will be scheduled to work approximately 15 hours per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
B.A. in Art History or a related field; three years of museum registrarial experience; knowledge of proper art handling and packing; excellent organizational and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of The Museum System (TMS) and Photoshop preferred.
OVERVIEW:
The Collection Inventory Art Handler will assist the museum's Collection Inventory Assistant Registrar in the successful implementation of the Collection Inventory Project. This position will be responsible for the physical retrieval, placement, and subsequent tracking of artwork in storage according to archival standards for the purposes the Inventory Project.
This position will be scheduled to work approximately 28 hours per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
B.A. in Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field. Three years of experience in art preparation, handling, installation, and/or conservation. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
