Casting Notice

Award-winning and critically acclaimed theater company Son of Semele Ensemble (SOSE) is accepting submissions for NEW COMPANY MEMBERS. SOSE produces progressive theatrical work in a variety of forms: plays, multi-disciplinary, experimental, etc. If you are interested in this kind of theatrical work, read on. If not, this is not the company for you. Thank you.

What We Are Seeking:

P.S. ARTS is currently accepting resumes from experienced, Music, Theater, and Visual Arts Teaching Artists for substitute teaching and/or short-term residencies.

Responsibilities:

Develop a sequential, standards-based curriculum in the arts
Teach an arts discipline across multiple grade levels for an entire school year
Address the learning needs of diverse student populations
Identify and plan cross curriculum connections in and across multiple subject areas
Submit documentation of teaching practice, including curriculum and lesson plans
Represent P.S. ARTS amongst multiple school community stakeholders, including classroom teachers, parents, administration, and donors
Apply knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development into teaching practice

Curate, a global competition organized by Qatar Museums Authority and Fondazione Prada to find new curating talent, is accepting entries online at www.curateaward.org until 31 December 2013.

Curate opens up and challenges people's ideas of what an exhibition can be. It will provide one winner with the unprecedented opportunity to curate the exhibition of their dreams.

The Lower East Side Printshop, NY offers emerging artists with FREE year-long studio residencies to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. The application deadline is September 1, 2013 for residencies that begin on October 1, 2013. Printmaking facilities are available for intaglio, relief, monoprint, waterbased silkscreen, digital processes, and other techniques that employ the tools at hand.

Keyholders work independently in the Printshop’s shared Artists’ Studio and have access to a vibrant community of peers. Artists from all disciplines are eligible to apply; printmaking skills are not required, but some familiarity with the medium is recommended. Basic instruction in printmaking and some Master Printer assistance is included in the program.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces an art call for the gallery’s 3rd Annual “Landscapes” Juried Art Competition for the month of August 2013. The gallery invites all 2D artists (including photography) from around the world to make online submissions for inclusion in to the Gallery’s September 2013 online group art exhibition.

Light Space & Time encourages entries from artists regardless of where they reside and regardless of their experience or education in the art field to send us your best interpretation of the theme “Landscapes".
