The ARTGRANT AWARD, initiated by the strategy agency ICAA e.K., awarded already for the 6th time supports highly talented fine artists who are resident in Germany.
The 6th ARTGRANT consists of:
ARTGRANT AWARD: a financial award to support artistic practice of € 4,000,-
ARTGRANT junior prize: a newcomer award of € 1,000,-
ARTGRANT artist-in-residence: a 6 week artist-in-residence in the studio loft by Belgian collector Alain Servais, Brussels.
Fall Internship, Family Programs
The Skirball's Education Department is offering one fall internship position for an undergraduate or graduate student in the area of Family Programs. Working closely with members of the Education Department, which focuses on providing intergenerational learning experiences through the Skirball's exhibitions and collections, the Family Programs Intern will help coordinate and develop programs for families in a drop-in art studio setting, a hands-on simulated archaeological dig site, and several special events. The Family Programs intern will also have the opportunity to gain gallery teaching experience.
Day of the Dead Exhibition Celebration: Honoring the Heroes in Our Lives. Day of the Dead is a Mexican celebration taking place in October in which we honor our loved ones who passed. Our Day of the Dead exhibition theme is honoring fallen heroes who have had a personal impact in our lives: family members, celebrities, war heroes, or maybe a family pet. If you have had a hero in your life who has influenced you tremendously, please consider applying. Open entry to artists working in any media. No Entry fee. City of Santa Monica 2014 Annenberg Community Beach House Writer's Completion Residency
The City of Santa Monica, Cultural Affairs Division, seeks applications from writers living in Los Angeles County for a residency at the Annenberg Community Beach House, Santa Monica. This Artist Residency offers a large private office in the historic Marion Davies Guest House for ten weeks between January 6 and March 17, 2014 to complete a work in progress.
Re-Envisioning East 7th Street: A
Design Competition Event kicks off today!
Sponsored in part by The East 7th
Street Collaborative, The Arts Council for Long Beach and the 1st and 2nd
District City Council Offices, this local/regional event encourages the
re-design and re-imagining of East 7th Street (Redondo Ave to Alamitos Ave).
We are seeking fresh modern ideas for what this important corridor could
become in the future! This event looks to explore ideas in Art and
Architecture and how they can relate to our neighborhoods in a functional and
purposeful way.
Professionals and Students are
welcome to apply. There is an honorarium for the top 3 entries and the
top 50 entries will be displayed along the street as part of an October Street
Event.
The Los Angeles County Arts Commission is now welcoming applications for
the 2014/15 Organizational Grant Program (OGP). OGP provides financial
support to assist and strengthen nonprofit arts organizations to provide
quality arts services to enrich the lives of Los Angeles County
residents.
