provocative, and experimental theatrical work of Southern
California's most innovative companies in our 94-seat Nicholas
Studio. Our goals are to engage new artists, introduce our audiences to
their work and their audiences to ours, and offer alternative
programming from our other two stages. Above all, we aim to contribute
to the vibrancy of our local theatre community.
We are looking for projects from companies with a track record of
production excellence and innovative approaches to live performance.

CARNIVAL Residency Programme in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Largo das Artes is pleased to accept applications from artists willing to take part in our CARNIVAL Residency Programme (10th February – 10th March 2014). This would suit particularly artists who think their work could benefit from being in Brazil during Carnival (28th February - 5th March) and also the days leading up to it.
Opportunity for Contemporary Dance Choreographers
Artis, a 501c3 nonprofit art organization that broadens international
awareness of contemporary art from Israel, is seeking a contemporary dance
choreographer with experience working with non-dancers to participate in a
two-week artist project in November 2013.
The project, which consists of an exhibition and performance series that
merges contemporary art, therapy and theater, will take place at Affirmation
Arts, a contemporary art venue in Manhattan from November 12-23, 2013. It
will be presented as part of Performa 13, an internationally renowned visual
art performance festival in New York City.
The selected performers will work closely with the artist, an improv performer,

The award-winning Foundry Theatre invites ambitious artists, community organizers and non-profit mangers to apply for a new position within the company, currently titled Managing Producer.
This position joins our growing team of producers (from the arts and social justice organizing sectors) as we embark on the second phase of the company’s transition to a distributed leadership model, and together look to creatively “produce” the company itself.

Red Hook Initiative (RHI) is a community center in Red Hook, Brooklyn. RHI believes that social change to overcome systemic inequities begins with empowered youth. In partnership with community adults, we nurture young people in Red Hook to be inspired, resilient, and healthy, and to envision themselves as co-creators of their lives, community and society. We envision a Red Hook where all young people can pursue their dreams and grow into independent adults who contribute to their families and community.

Fall 2013 Fellowship for Utopian Practice
Culture Push began the Fellowship for Utopian Practice in Spring 2012. Since
then, the Fellowship has supported ten boundary-stretching creative
civically engaged projects. Culture Push Fellows--in partnership with
diverse communities--have explored a wide range of topics, including
sustainable urban agriculture; the choreography of protest; food and
empowerment; the roots of video art; and reimagining the waterways of NYC.
We are excited to announce the open call for the Fall 2013 Fellowship!
Artists and other creative professionals are encouraged to apply with ideas
for projects that expand their practice beyond its traditional boundaries,
are highly interactive, and engage the public.
