Since 1916, when the Kestner Gesellschaft was founded in Hannover (Germany), it has been actively promoting contemporary national and international art. It is not only one of the oldest but also one of the largest art associations in Germany.

The board is currently seeking a new director. Besides the exhibitions of art, the Kestner Gesellschaft offers a variety of platforms of discourse: discussions with artists, lectures, public tours, guided tours for members, art trips for members, and programs for children, students and young employees.

MUNCH is among Northern Europe’s most visited museums, and houses the largest collection of the world-renowned Norwegian artist Edvard Munch (1863–1944). Foto Arsenal Wien (FAW) is the new center for photography and lens-based media in Austria. Kunsthalle Wien (KHW) is the City of Vienna’s primary institution for contemporary art.

FAW and KHW are collaborating to develop a new concept for the City of Vienna’s Festival of Media Arts. Originally conceived as an annual event in 2020, it has explored the intersection between contemporary art, lens-based media, digital culture and technology.
