Museum Events Intern

The Museum of Latin American Art is currently seeking a Museum Events Intern to assist the museum¡¦s Events department. MOLAA is the only museum in the western United States that exclusively features contemporary and modern Latin American art.

Job Description

Events intern will aid the Museum Events department with database entry, mass mailings, marketing museum events and clerical duties related to MOLAA¡¦s events. This candidate must have one year of relevant office-related experience with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Claremont Graduate University Visiting Position in Arts Management

The Masters in Arts Management Program of Claremont Graduate University, the only program of its kind in California, seeks an outstanding artist, arts manager or academic who is a thought leader in the field for a visiting appointment in arts management in 2011 – 2012. This is a special opportunity for a practitioner or scholar in the field to create a residency or project of their own design that will invigorate the more than 40 students in the Arts Management program. Development Associate Position:

P.S. ARTS is looking for a part time temporary Development Associate to work
approximately 29 hours a week.

The Development Associate will be responsible for the timely execution of
all grant applications and funder reports as well as managing the Raiser's
Edge database for the organization.

Responsibilities include:

- Research and identify new government, corporate, and foundation prospects.

- Work with the Development Officer to write, coordinate and submit grant
proposals and supporting documents.

- Maintain the grant calendar.

- Enter foundation, corporate, government, and individual gifts and related
information in Raiser's Edge.

- Create and change constituent records in Raiser's Edge as needed.

Stanford University calls for faculty, deadlines Oct. 15

African American drama (Open Rank)

The Department of Drama at Stanford University is seeking applicants for an
open rank faculty position. Successful candidate must have expertise in
African- American Drama and in race and performance broadly construed.

Ph.D required. Term of appointment begins September 1, 2011.

The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in the Drama
Department at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, two of which will
be cross-listed in the undergraduate Program in Comparative Studies in Race
and Ethnicity and African & African American Studies.
The successful candidate's home department for promotion and tenure review

Job Opening: Preparator (Long Beach, CA)

The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) is seeking a Preparator to support the Curatorial Department in the movement and installation/de-installation of art exhibits. Reporting to the VP of Curatorial Affairs the Preparator will assess installation needs in conjunction with appropriate department staff. The Preparator will be responsible for setting lighting, assist with the installation of labels, text panels and title walls, manage all aspects of set-up and clean-up of an exhibition and maintain all technical elements in the galleries. The Preparator will be in charge of transporting art pieces from local museums, galleries, and private homes to MOLAA.
