The Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art (LAAFA) is currently looking to hire a highly motivated full-time ADMISSIONS DIRECTOR. The qualified candidate will work with a talented team of individuals in a creative environment where they will have the opportunity to make their mark in the world of art education.
LAAFA offers a full time, 3-year studio art program with a focus on a disciplined approach to representational painting. Within this framework, we offer a broad range of technical and conceptual approaches to the articulation of the perceived and the experienced. The mission of our school is to provide its students with both the technical and intellectual ability to address issues in the contemporary art world.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Associate is responsible for assisting the Director of
Development in coordinating and implementing the development functions for
Los Angeles Children's Chorus. Development functions include: the
cultivation, solicitation and acquisition of gifts to the annual fund
(individual, foundation, corporate, government); prospect research; grant
writing and report preparation; record keeping and file management; donor
acknowledgment and benefit delivery; and execution of special events and
self-produced concerts. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as
appropriate.
The Sherwood Internship is offered to emerging and aspiring arts professionals. It will be offered annually as a professional internship for the duration of six months.
The terms of the internship are as follows:
- Intern will receive a stipend of $2,000.
- Intern will receive a mentorship in contemporary theatre.
- Intern will create a database of applicants and track any of their work being presented in Los Angeles.
- Intern will conduct research on the candidates and offer weekly updates to members of the panel.
- Intern will work under the supervision of the Producer, answer communications and liaise with Press and Marketing departments regarding the award, and assist in honing the group of applicants down to three finalists to be reviewed by the panel as a whole.

Working closely with the Cultural Arts Administrator, you will gain
valuable, hands-on experience assisting with the coordination and
marketing of public and performance art projects, workshops and City
events. Some events/projects include (but are not limited to): "The Big
Read", Summer Sounds, Pride Month, the Cornerstone Theatre Project, and
the City's celebration of 25 years of cityhood.
Current enrollment at an accredited College or University and in good
standing is required (graduate student preferred). Flexible work
schedule is available which may include weekends and evenings. Hours
offered are approximately 20 hours per week. Pay rate is $12.41 - $15.06
per hour.
Associate Vice President Foundation and Government Relations
Located in the East Village Arts District in Long Beach, CA the Museum of Latin American Art seeks an Associate Vice President of Foundation and Government Relations. Founded in 1996, MOLAA is the only museum in the United States dedicated to the presentation of contemporary Latin American fine art. The AVP of Foundation and Government Relations is responsible for directing and managing the Museum's efforts to secure funding from foundation and government sources for annual giving, exhibitions, education programs and capital funding. The AVP of Foundation and Government Relations directly reports to the Vice President of External Affairs.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Development (DoD) is responsible for creating, directing and managing all fund raising strategies and programs to further the mission of the Long Beach Opera. The DoD will be responsible for the creating and executing a full range of annual and long term fund development strategies supporting a 2010-11 company budget in excess of $1.5 million, with unearned income budgeted at $750,000, as well as a remaining 2009-10 company budget of $1 million with remaining unearned income budgeted at $170,000.
