CONTRA-TIEMPO, a non-profit dance company based in Los Angeles, is looking for administrative interns!
CONTRA-TIEMPO is dedicated to transforming the world through dance. Our unique Urban Latin Dance Theater brings to life voices not traditionally heard on the concert stage. We build community, facilitate dialogue and move youth to imagine what is possible in the world.
We have lots of community programming and national touring coming up in the next few months, and need interns in the office to help facilitate our performance and education work.
Ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented and passionate about the arts.

LACE Archives Internship
The LACE Archives Intern will work closely with the LACE Archives Fellow to make LACE's archival holdings useful and available for research and integrate materials from LACE's archives into exhibition and publication initiatives. Through his or her involvement with the archives, the intern will also participate in the development of a major exhibition and publication project at LACE titled Los Angeles Goes Live: Exploring a Social History of Performance Art, 1970-1983.

The Nida Art Colony or NAC is a new subdivision of the Vilnius Academy of Arts located in Nida, Neringa. Its objective is to create favourable conditions for the implementation of innovations in art education and creative art practices by promoting international cooperation. The NAC will run an artist-in-residence programme, organise workshops, exhibitions and conferences. The NAC starts its activities in February 2011.

For the starting date of January 1st, 2011, Kuenstlerhaus Stuttgart is seeking for a new ARTISTIC DIRECTOR.
Since its founding in 1978, Kuenstlerhaus Stuttgart has developed into a contemporary art institution of regional and international significance which is mainly financed through the city of Stuttgart. In addition to its exhibition and event program, Kuenstlerhaus hosts technical workshops and a studio program.
The Artistic Director accounts for:
Attendants will work with the LACE team to carry out the day-to-day operations of the gallery during the Spring exhibition ART AGAINST EMPIRE. Attendants will have the opportunity to interact directly with visitors and artists during gallery hours. Attendants will also attend private walkthroughs with the artists to learn about the project and be able to fully education the public on LACE's programming. This position provides a point of entry to contemporary art.
Responsibilities include:
. performing day-to-day duties, including opening/ closing gallery and tracking gallery attendance
. ensuring quality of visitors' experience through facility maintenance
. performing clerical duties, including answering phone calls and sorting mail
. assisting with general for upcoming programs
Intern will work with the LACE team to support the production of LACE exhibitions and events. This position provides the opportunity to learn about the installation of the upcoming Art Against Empire, an exhibition of over 100 works from the archives of the Center for the Study of Political Graphics. Intern will work directly with the Assistant Director and Gallery Supervisor, as well as the artists and curators, to develop production plans and supervise LACE curatorial staff during the installation of the exhibition. This position provides hands-on experience in gallery operations and a point of entry to contemporary art.
Responsibilities include:
. assist LACE production team in the installation of upcoming exhibition and events,
. support the reorganization of LACE's facilities,
Host a minimum of 2 two-hour art workshops per Quarter for a total of approximately 4 hours with a fellow volunteer at one of the playrooms at Children's Hospital or Harbor UCLA- Torrance.
The workshops rotate between playrooms and clinics in order to reach various patient populations at the hospital. For admitted patients as well as their visiting siblings, these workshops provide both a stimulating experience and exposure to a new activity. Upon leaving the hospital, many of these patients are eligible to participate in the Outpatient Coaching Program. Our goal is to provide a creative outlet for these children to develop new skills and focus on something other than their illness.

My name is Becca and I work for a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles called CoachArt. We provide free lessons in the arts, music and athletics to kids with chronic and life-threatening illnesses and their siblings. We look for experienced professionals and amateurs in a wide range of activities including photography, art, music, yoga, cooking, creative writing, acting, dancing and more to donate their time and instruction to our students. We pair volunteers with students one-on-one for a ten week session, once a week for approximately one hour. Our goal is to promote normalcy and personal development in kids who truly need it.
